MAZE RUNNER Tops Weekend Box Office, Sequel Gets 2015 Release Date

The Maze Runner has had an impressive domestic opening weekend, with early estimates at $32 million — just a shy of its production costs — and nearly triple the amount of the second place earner, A Walk Among the Tombstones.  It’s worldwide total, including last weekends impressive international opening is estimated at $81 million.  Not a bad start at all!

Want more good news? You won’t have to wait but a year for the sequel!  Variety is reporting that The Scorch Trials is slated to open on September 18, 2015.
